The Fleetwood Project Presents First Strike
Every year The Fleetwood Project brings an original play written by a local playwright to
the Farr Best stage.This season we bring you, First Strike, written by Jo Carey. First Strike is a science fiction comedy that tells the story of a wild weekend in Splittsville-- home of the Far Northern Midwest Regional Bowling Association Championships. It’s been a year in the planning, but the bowlers, their families, and fans aren’t the only ones visiting Splittsville this weekend. The townspeople and bowlers face off on opposite sides of the debate over canceling the tournament when people are attacked and missing person reports roll in. First Strike features an intrepid reporter with undue concerns about the inflatable tube beings that welcome people into town for the tournament, a business owner who will fight any enemy to keep her family business alive, and a sheriff who is trying his best to make sense of the nonsensical. In Splittsville, when the going gets tough – the tough go bowling.
