Two rival detectives with completely opposed sleuthing styles (he’s a devotee of old school Sherlock Holmes-style deduction, meanwhile she’s a tough PI who’s only interested in getting results) are pitted against each other when a small-town socialite vanishes from a local cafe in broad daylight (along with her social-media-famous pet bird). Upon receiving a strange and cryptic ransom note, the socialite’s wealthy husband demands that no one leave the building and offers a life-changing cash reward to whichever of the detectives can find her first, but they may be too distracted by one-upping each other to get the job done. A ticking clock. A locked room. A sinister abductor more interested in playing games than collecting ransome. An eccentric cast of suspects, staff and customers alike, some with secrets of their own. The Breadcrumb Hoax is a hilarious mystery dinner theater extravaganza with built-in audience participation and a breadcrumb trail of tantalizing clues full of unexpected twists and turns.
